I do not know what meeting you were at, but clearly not the council meeting (Police called as tempers flare at controversial Kingston post office development meeting, surreycomet.co.uk, June 2).

There was ironic laughter when the developer said 75 per cent of residents wanted a development, but it was a very well mannered meeting.

About 400 residents tried to get in and they had to open three rooms. Many were locked out.

Of course, residents want the site developed, but not with towers upto 200 ft in height.

It was a excellent informative meeting and well run.

Not the meeting you described.
