Shooting Star Chase is now the new Surrey Police Chief Constable’s charity.

The charity, which works to provide support and care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions, was selected after a staff ballot.

The selection of a new charity follows on from £5,751.83 delivered by Chief Constable Lynne Owens to the Children’s Trust, the previous charity.

Chief Con Owens said: "It has been an exciting and eventful year and I am overjoyed with the funds that the force has collectively raised. The enthusiasm and creativity Surrey Police staff and officers demonstrate through their fundraising is commendable and I am deeply proud of all.

"Shooting Star Chase is another extraordinary charity and through our fundraising we can help ensure that they continue to deliver care and support."

Katy Jones, community fundraising manager at Shooting Star Chase, said: "To keep our vital care service running we rely almost entirely on the generosity of our supporters, so we're truly delighted to be chosen as the chief constable's charity of the year."
