A buggy service to help the less able get around the countryside in Painshill has done its first journey.
The service, launching on May 31, will run on the last Sunday of each month for visitors with disabilities or mobility requirements to travel around the Serpentine Lake.
A group from Anchor's flagship care home in West Byfleet tried out the service on Tuesday, May 26.
The addition of a new buggy is thanks to Community Infrastructure Levy Funding through Elmbridge Council. Deputy Mayor, Councillor Tannia Shipley, attended the trial run.
She said: "The atmosphere in the buggy was 'buzzing' and the excitement was palpable. It was clear that because of mobility requirements, it would have been impossible for some of the people on board to have walked such a long way, and they would not have been able to appreciate the stunning views across the beautiful lake or indeed seen the furious fascinating follies."
Pre-book the buggy by calling Painshill 01932 868113.
