Youngsters in the borough have been given a boost as the inaugural Elmbridge Youth Festival joins forces with Kingston's International Youth Arts Festival.
The Kingston audience will be directed to arts hubs in Elmbridge, such as Riverhouse Arts Centre, under this joint venture, while Elmbridge acts will take part in activities in Kingston including the Youth Dance Showcase at the Rose Theatre on July 9.
Joint productions, such as a Mock Tudor comedy night will feature Kingston and Elmbridge comedians.
The first festival will feature drama, film, dance, comedy, music and art produced by young people from the borough. Next year it is hoped the festival will expand to more venues and green spaces.
The festival starts with a Proms in the Park at Churchfields Recreation Ground, Weybridge, on July 3.
