A large power cut left much of New Malden and parts of Merton without electricity from 7pm last night.
Lights on the A3 went out and shoppers in Tesco and B&Q in Shannon Corner found themselves in darkness after an underground electricity cable fault.
UK Power Networks said engineers took around two hours to fix the problem and power was restored to most homes by 9.30pm.
