A community project team has been awarded a £200 bonus for their work.

The Prince's Trust team from Brooklands College, Weybridge, completed a gardening project at St Peter's Hospital and received the bonus from Barclays Bank.

Eight days in the garden saw a transformation for the Abraham Crowley unit. Patients use the gardens regularly so students chose flowers for colour and smell in order to support the recovery process.

Students also had an opportunity to chat to some of the patients which highlighted the need for an awareness of mental health.

A spokesman the college said: "These projects are such a great success due to the support from our local community. We would like to thank everyone who has supported the students fundraising activities which allowed them to buy the equipment and plants from their project."
