Flooding: The area was badly affected last year
A flood alert has been issued for the River Mole and its tributaries from Kinnersley Manor to South Hersham, including Stoke D'Abernon and Cobham.
The Environment Agency said at about 2.30pm: "Following a period of heavy rain this morning, the rivers are now responding and are expected to overtop banks in some places. River levels are expected to remain high throughout the rest of the day and into tomorrow."
No more heavy rainfall is forecast currently, and the rest of the day should remain dry.
