Dad and son have been left to their own devices - the Xbox.

When mum comes home - trouble is brewing, in this short comedy for the International Youth Arts Festival, directed by Kingston resident Helen Albert.

Eight-year-old Beau Brown, a Weybridge schoolboy stars as Tom, with Steve Dorsett (Big Bopper - The Buddy Holly Story) as a larger than life, wrestling dad.

Miss Albert (Comedy News Hour - Leicester Square Theatre), who plays mum Vanessa, said: "The play is about a family. They argue, but it's really about a father and son and their bond between each other.

"It is funny. The boys have been having takeaways every night so there's loads of empty pizza boxes and Dad is doing his best to cover his tracks - hiding leftovers wherever he can, including under the bed.

"When mum, whose been nursing his sick mother, comes home and starts nagging the family relationships go into hyperdrive."

She said: "Beau is a talented young actor who I teach and I wanted to give him a chance to shine. This role is a golden opportunity for him to show off what he can do."
