Police have released two teenagers after a stabbing which left a boy bleeding heavily outside KFC in New Malden.

No more information has been released about the state of the 16-year-old is still in hospital yesterday.

On Twitter friends tweeted: "Thank God its not life threatening."

Another said: "Inshallah my brother is gonna be alright !!"

He was stabbed in Blagdon Park on Wednesday night and ended up outside KFC, five minutes away from the park, in New Malden High Street.

Friends said he lived on the Cambridge Gardens Estate and was a former pupil of Soutborough High School.

Witnesses had reported seeing the victim slumped against the wall of the the KFC, surrounded by people, with a bandage soaked with blood.

Two boys aged 16 and 17, will return to a south west London police station after further enquiries by police.
