It’s been quite a busy week I must say, made better by the fact the sun decided to make a much-needed appearance. To be honest, it did feel weird baring my arms and legs for the first time this year, and driving through Richmond Park with the windows down, the fresh air flowing around the car and my music playing felt so good! I was experiencing holiday vibes even though I wasn’t physically abroad!

So, to give you a quick rundown of events, I managed to fit in a visit to the Vintage Banquet lunch for those 60 or over, at St Peter’s church in Norbiton and met some lovely people who have had such interesting and varied lives. I also sorted out my tax for the next quarter which wasn’t too ‘taxing’ and I even managed to test out a few more recipes much to my neighbour’s delight!

This week I again was back on cover for The One Show for my friend Alex Jones who was off working on another BBC project. I really enjoy the buzz of live television as anything can happen and the adrenaline really does kicks in and before you know it, you’re ‘off-air’. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to meet some amazing guests and on Wednesday, I was lucky enough to interview our ladies Netball team who won gold at the Commonwealth Games. Honestly, I didn’t get chance to watch a lot of the games only managing to catch some of the table tennis and badminton and coincidentally the moment our netball ‘Roses’ won their gold medal in the last few seconds of the game. It was incredible stuff and meeting the netball team wearing their medals was so inspiring. You knew they had all worked so hard over many years to get to a point where they could say ‘We did it’!

I guess this principle can be applied to anything. With sheer determination and willpower, the world can be our oyster. Something we should remind ourselves constantly.
