Fundraisers enjoyed a drinks reception with Kingston and Surbiton MP Edward Davey at the Houses of Parliament this week.
Mr Davey welcomed supporters of the Love Kingston campaign to the House of Commons on Wednesday, alongside founding patrons Edward Bentall and Shiraz Mirza.
The evening was held as a thank you to fundraisers who had supported the campaign so far - and also an attempt to attract new avenues of funding.
Love Kingston fundraising manager Elaine Miller said: "I really do feel like this is the beginning of a snowball.
"It was quite incredible. The kind of people who were there, you never know what sort of doors we've opened so fingers crossed."
Love Kingston was launched in October last year, to raise money for five Kingston-based charities - women's refuge Hestia, youth charity Oxygen, Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness, credit union Kingston Savers and Kingston Foodbank.
It also organises the Kingston Legacy Fund, which provides donations for other good causes across the borough.
