Sutton secondary school children have been making a splash in the art world, with their sea-themed paintings on public display.

The works have been created by students from Overton Grange High School who took part in an art competition.

The winners were Holly Sykes, 16, Alya Blaber, 15, Lianne Liu, 12, Johnny Proctor, 12, and Joe Rigby, 14.

Their pieces were inspected by children from Devonshire Primary School, before being delivered to the site where they are now on display.

The initiative was run with engineering and construction firm Subsea 7, who are building a new project office in Brighton Road, Sutton.

Charlotte Auger, Head of Science at Overton Grange, said: “The students who took part researched the work of Subsea 7 to see how a local company makes a world-wide contribution to engineering.

"They used this research to produce some incredible pieces of work. "

The works are currently on display at the Brighton Road site.
