Now that we have entered stage two of lockdown restrictions being lifted across the country, many people are making plans for the summer.

This is because on May 17, the UK will enter stage three of restrictions being lifted on June 21, the country should be lockdown free on the basis that coronavirus cases are kept a minimum.

So, now that people can start making plans again, we are going to look at five places people can visit.

Number 5: Bekonscot Model Village & Railway, Beaconsfield

A popular attraction for parents with young children and railway enthusiasts, the model village is the oldest in the entire and it is located in Buckinghamshire.

The eye-catching display has been visited by more than 14m people since it was first built in the 1929s, and it has raised over £5m for charity.

Overall, there are six model towns, one model garden railway, a ride-on railway, remote-controlled boats, castles, lakes and several industries on 1.5 acre area.

The unique landmark in Beaconsfield has also made national attention as shows such as Blue Peter, Countryfile and the One Show have all featured the model village, whilst Bekonscot has also made appearances on programmes such as Midsomer Murders and A League of Their Own.

If you haven’t been, it is certainly a place to visit.

Number 4: Watermead Lake, Aylesbury

You may think that this is an odd suggestion to put on our list as in theory, it is just a lake.

However, on a beautiful day when the sun is shining and the heat is sizzling, it is a beautiful place to go to.

The lake at Watermead is massive, and it is right next to a huge field where people can enjoy picnics.

There are also shops on the waterfront which sell duck food if you ever wanted to feed the countless amounts of swans, geese, and duck that live on the lake.

People can fish on the bank and now that you can eat outside, there is a pub on the lake.

A hidden gem in Bucks.

Number 3, Roald Dahl Museum, Great Missenden

One of two museums dedicated to the last children’s author, the Roald Dahl museum is a place where children can let their imaginations run wild whilst also learning about some of the world’s most popular stories.

Not just for children, but parents can learn about how Dahl used some of his real-life mishaps as inspiration for his stories, whilst also playing games with their children when at the museum.

There is also a café at the location which is open to anyone, and not just for those who want to visit the museum.

It is certainly something different for you to try out if you are ever in Great Missenden.

Number Two: Cliveden House, Taplow

A real gem in Buckinghamshire, Cliveden House, which sits on the Berks/Bucks border is certainly one for you to visit once more of the restrictions are lifted in the coming months.

Part of the National Trust, the house has got a lot going on now restrictions have been lifted.

People who want to visit the ancient building is home to 47 rooms which includes a spring cottage.

There are two restaurants, a bar, and 15 sites for customers to visit, with the location also boasting a spa, a tennis area, a gym, and 376 acres of National Trust-managed grounds.

In a brief statement that was published on April 12, they said: “We’re delighted to partially reopen and welcome guests back!”

It is truly spectacular and it is certainly one for you to visit.

Number One: Waddesdon Manor, Waddesdon

Coming in first place is another National Trust-related property and that is Waddesdon Manor.

Located in the village which is a few miles away from Aylesbury, the venue is one of the most visited places in the entire county as in 2019, 463,000 people visited the venue.

On top of that, they have also got numerous exhibitions, seasonal events, behind the scene events, and theatre productions throughout 2021, which you are not short of options.
