NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton, of Civic Offices, St. Nicholas Way, Sutton SN1 1EA (the "Council") has drafted an order pursuant to section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (the "Act") in respect of highway (being a footway) from a point on the eastern side of 23 Richmond Green, Beddington for a distance of 242 metres (and having a maximum width of 1.2 metres) to a point where such footway meets the main carriageway of Richmond Green, Beddington, all such land being shown marked by black diagonal lines on the plan attached to the Order, and situate in the London Borough of Sutton.
The effect of the Order would be that the said land would cease to be public highway.
The Council is satisfied that it is necessary to stop up the said footway at Richmond Green, Beddington CRO 4SA which is the subject of this Order, to allow the implementation of a planning permission granted by the Council on 30 June 2016 (under reference number D2016/73695/3FR) being planning permission for the carrying out of development comprising the demolition of existing bungalows and the erection of twelve 2 bedroomed 2 storey houses and nine 3 bedroomed 3 storey houses (100% affordable) with refuse and cycle storage, 33 car parking spaces and new vehicular accesses.
If the Order is made, an alternative highway (being a footway) between the same points referred to above, but along an alternative route, for a distance of 242 metres (and having a maximum width of 1.2 metres) all such land being shown marked by black stippling on the plan attached to the Order and situate in the London Borough of Sutton, shall be created to the reasonable satisfaction of the Council, as replacement highway (footway) for the highway (footway) being stopped up.
A copy of the Order and a map defining the land to which it relates can be inspected at the Council's Civic Offices, St. Nicholas Way, Sutton SN1 1EA at all reasonable hours until 26 November 2018.
The Council will formally consider any objections to the making of the Order which are submitted to it by 26 November 2018. Any objections must be in writing and sent to the South London Legal Partnership, Gifford House, 67c St. Helier Avenue, Morden SM4 6HY (quoting reference Ref. VF1219/136/JRQ).
