Vale Road (D2420) Stoneleigh Temporary Prohibition of Waiting Order 2021

On 8 December 2021 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles waiting at any time in the following lengths of road - (a) that length of Vale Road (D2420) Stoneleigh, extending from the existing double yellow line restrictions situated at or adjacent to No.2 Westways, for a distance of 10m in a south-westerly direction; (b) that length of Vale Road (D2420) which extends from the existing double yellow line restrictions in-line with the property boundary line between Nos. 195 and 193 Vale Road north-westwards to the existing double yellow line restrictions outside No. 189 Vale Road. This Order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public. The Order will commence on 10 December 2021 for a period of 18 months. The temporary waiting restriction will only apply when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and to the extent indicated by those traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in respect of the temporary waiting restrictions to permit vehicles to waft in order to pick up and set down passengers, to load and unload goods, to carry out essential services and works or when used by local authorities in pursuance of statutory powers or duties. Exemptions also apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction.
