CUMBRIA COUNTY COUNCIL THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE DISTRICT OF SOUTH LAKELAND) (CONSOLIDATION AND PROVISION OF SPEED LIMITS) (ORDER 2018) VARIATION ORDER (NO.6) 2021 I. Cumbria Count/ Council hereby give notice that on 13 July 2021 it made the above Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2.The Order will come into operation on 19 July 2021 and its effect will be to: ■

(i) Reduce the existing 30 mph speed limit (which is due to the system of street lighting), on the entire lengths of following roads, to a speed limit of 20 mph: ■



Briery Bank, Silverdale Road, Briery Bank Nos 10-14, Church Hill, Church Hill Spur, High Knott Road, Hollins Lane, Inglemere Close, Inglemere Drive,





Inglemere Gardens, Inglemere Gardens (East),KingsClose, Knott Lane, Lawrence Drive, Lawrence Drive Spur, New Barns Road, Orchard Road, Parkside Drive, Parkside Drive Spur, Plantation Avenue, Plantation Grove, Queens Drive, Red Hills Road, Springfield, Station Road, Stewart Close, Stewart Close (south to north leg), Swinate Road, The Meadows, The Meadows (hammerhead), The Promenade (East of Silverdale Road), The Promenade (West of Silverdale Road), Black Dyke Road.

(ii) Reduce the existing 30 mph speed limit (introduced by a traffic regulation order), on part of following lengths of road, to a speed limit of 20 mph: -



Silverdale Road, Sandside Road and Black Dyke Road.

4. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks of 13 July 2021 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
