A240 Kingston Road, B284 Ruxley Lane, D2245 Kingston Road Service Road and D2358 Kingston Road Service Road, Ewell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021
On 26 May 2021 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1), (7) and Part IV to Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to: a) Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of: (i) A240 Kingston Road, Ewell E/B that extends from its junction with Grafton Road to its junction Chestnut Avenue, (ii) A240 Kingston Road, Ewell W/B that extends from its junction with Court Farm Avenue to its junction with Francis Close. (Hi) B284 Ruxley Lane, Ewell that extends from its junction with A240 Kingston Road, to a point 50m west of its junction with Merchant Close, (iv) D224S Kingston Road Service Road, Ewell (395-427) that extends from its junction with B284 Ruxley Lane to its junction with A240 Kingston Road, b) Suspend item number 6 to the Schedule of "The Borough of Epsom and Ewell (Various Roads) (One-way Traffic) Order 1970" as amended that imposes the north-westerly one way system in D2358 Kingston Road Service Road, Ewell (431-545) between its junctions with B284 Ruxley Lane and D2410 Tealing Drive, c) Revoke Part f) to the Schedule to "The Surrey County Council Various Roads in the Borough of Epsom and Ewell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2021" in its entirety.
This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable highway maintenance and/or resurfacing, and/or improvement works on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8pm to 6am, as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 01 June 2021. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians at all times. Access for emergency vehicles, residents and businesses will be via the diversion routes described below. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner. Traffic on A240 Kingston Road will be diverted via - A240 Kingston Road, Tolworth junction A3, A2043 Maiden Road, A2043 Central Road, A2043 Cheam Common Road, A24 London Road, A240 Ewell By Pass and A240 Kingston Road (Same in reverse). Traffic from Ruxley Lane to west of closure will be diverted via - B284 Ruxley Lane, B284 Chessington Road, B2200 Chessington Road, B2200 London Road*, A24 London Road, A2043 Cheam Common Road, A2043 Central Road, A2043 Maiden Road, A3 Tolworth junction and A240 Kingston Road (Same in reverse except * follow one way system - B2200 High Street and B2200 Spring Street). Traffic from Ruxley Lane to east of closure will be diverted via - B284 Ruxley Lane, B284 Chessington Road, B2200 Chessington Road, B2200 London Road*, A240 Ewell By Pass and A240 Kingston Road (Same in reverse except * follow one way system - B2200 High Street and B2200 Spring Street).
