CHRISTMAS on ST. Georges Day!

By Community Correspondent Clare Kakembo LOUVAINE AREA RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION (Lara) hosted a, belated, senior citizens Christmas party on St. George’s day, 24th April ’10.

Due to the former, inclement, dangerous for pensioners, weather.

Under the auspices of Jean & Marie, committee and a host of wonderful volunteers we were treated to delicious food, wine, bingo and two sessions of exhilarating, inspiring, enjoyable entertainment.

We ate, drank, sang, danced and relived the past as only pensioners can. Culminating in universal outpouring of THANKS for what we are and what we have.

Martin Linton MP came, as did the deputy mayor, Cllr. Mrs. Jane Cooper standing in for Cllr. Prof. Prichard. Sadly missed!

LARA is, indeed, a wonderful local community and welfare asset for ALL ages, in Battersea.
