The summer has finally arrived after the long, cold, dark winter we experienced this year. Whilst some are enjoying the summer’s sunshine spare a thought for those of revising for examinations. The diets are out the window, trackies out of the wardrobe, and magazines taking the places of good literature on the bedside table: anything to distract us from the monotony of revising.
Is it ironic that, despite being good all year round, just when summer’s sunshine brings about swimsuit season our swimmer bodies are ruined? I mean yes, I understand that exams need to be at the end of the year, but this just is not convenient. I long to relax in the sunshine I cannot relax, even living in tracksuits don’t help. My life is an endless list of revision topics, exam style questions, summaries of detailed notes. And the only way to deal with it is chocolate. I can feel my waistline expanding every day with every bar of chocolate I eat. The more I study the more chocolate I need.
Then just as the exams finish I will nicely rounded out for my summer holidays. My clothes will be tight and I will feel depressed. Let’s hope the exams results make it worth it!
