“The youth of today” has quite a name for itself: violent, intimidating, wasteful and general solution with no apparent solution. Critics of the younger generation like to have exhaustive discussions on how innocent people are intimidated and scared when simply taking the bus to Sainsbury’s. Surprisingly, these adults forget the state of their society.
How is the world doing these days? Western society is slowly crumbling as oil and gas steadily runs out, being pumped into the atmosphere and burning a hole in the protective wrapping nature has provided the earth. Not to mention the other messed up climate of the economic climates; the world is in turmoil as somehow everyone doesn’t have as much money anymore. Everyone’s at war but this is of no importance; the youth is far more fun to talk about.
And who can blame them? No-one wants to talk about how much they have messed-up, much better to discuss how bad other minorities are doing: exam grades, street violence. But what adults don’t realise is that everything, yes EVERYTHING, is caused by their influence. Films and videogames overflowing with violence are all aimed at the younger generation.
Quite clearly, the problems of today are all caused or directly influenced by the elder generation. Hiding behind blame of youths is, quite frankly, a juvenile attempt to conviently divert attention from themselves.
