A journey shared…special times for special families!

With summer well on its way, many will be looking forward to, or planning a break over the coming months with all the family.

Spending quality time together is an important part of any families’ life – and that’s no different for the families supported by CHASE. The big difference for them is that they are making the most of their time together with a life-limited child or teenager.

The children and young people who CHASE support suffer from a wide variety of conditions that are sometimes genetic, sometimes sudden and often progressively degenerative requiring 24 hour care. Can you imagine trying to cope with the constant worry of caring for a life-limited child, as well as finding time for the whole family to be together?

CHASE Head of Fundraising and Marketing, Jenny Edwards said: “Time together as a family is special, and even more so when a child is not expected to reach their 19th birthday. The families that are supported by CHASE get valuable support at home from the community care team, and can enjoy breaks at Christopher’s, the CHASE children’s hospice, where they can be together as a family knowing their child’s caring needs are taken care of.

“CHASE is only able to offer vital care to families thanks to the generosity of people in local communities, so this week CHASE launched their Summer Appeal asking people to give donations to help meet the cost of care for families with life-limited children. We continue to offer our specialist services 365 days a year, 24 hours a day at no costs to the families themselves. By making a donation, you are making a real difference to families’ lives.”

CHASE are aiming to raise £25,000 this summer – that’s enough to continue caring for 22 families for a whole month. Please support CHASE and help make a family summer a little more special by making a donation today. Visit www.chasecare.org.uk.
