The were smiling faces all around as New Malden District Rainbows, Brownies and Guides won Best Float prize in the New Malden Parade.
On Saturday June 30, the girls and their leaders put on their sporting shoes and ran the race to win the top prize in the Parade.
Division Commissioner, Charlotte Fitzgerald (pictured left) said, "It's all down to the girls, it is their enthusiasm, determination and team work that inspires us". Lynne Mattick, District Commissioner (pictured right) added, "Well Done, Girls!" and also “Well done, Leaders!”
Interesting fact: Over a third of girls and young women aged seven to 21 in the UK are involved in guiding, or have been in the past. That includes some famous faces such as Pixie Lott, Kate Silverton, Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, JK Rowling, Davina McCall and Dame Kelly Holmes.
