From Darren Mudie
SIR. I was prompted to respond to Councillor Davies' letter regarding the federation between Beverley Boys' and Coombe Girls School. It would appear, as is so often the case, just how out of touch with local opinion our councillors are. The steps taken by both schools are in no way an insult to past or present pupils.
It is apparent both the staff and pupils are committed and excited about the challenges that face them. It is clear their enthusiasm, teamwork and dedication coupled with outstanding leadership will, I am sure, guarantee the success of this federation.
To harp on about the past in this way is no use to the future of schooling in the borough.
