This month twenty students from the Hollyfield school completed an exchange trip with the Jesus Maria school in Badalona.

The trip started at 2:45 am on the sixth of march at The Hollyfield School where the twenty students and three teachers met together to head off to Gatwick Airport. After landing in Barcelona shortly before lunch time the students got to meet their exchange students for the first time and take a tour of the Jesus Maria school. Then the English pupils headed off into Barcelona and spent the afternoon exploring the magnificent Sagrada Familia before returning to the school and meeting the families they would be staying with for the week. The second day took place again in the centre of Barcelona but was spent discovering some of the abstract architecture built by Antoni Gaudí and then the afternoon was spent enjoying the retail therapy of the city.

The third was spent admiring more of the Architecture and learning about the history of Barcelona and the final day was the excursion to Camp Nou. The Camp Nou tour was a mix of museum and exploring the famous features of the world-renowned football stadium. It all ended in the actual stadium itself which deserves its own article by itself. One of the English students on the exchange said they “would love to return to Barcelona and not only to see the sights again but to see the amazing friends” they “ have made whilst in Spain” finally they said “ if you have the opportunity to go to Spain grab it.”
