Are your parents style better than yours? This Is Local London:

As fashion changes through the decades trends change, style adapts and retailers try to keep up. I remember a day when flared jeans were an embarrassment and double denim was a fashion law breaker. And yet only a phew years on, these past fashion no no's have become some of the most sought after items on everyones wish list.

What really angers me is the fact that as soon as the trends change or a celebrity walks out in something 'unusual' or 'risky',shops are quick to pick up on it and are soon charging ridiculous amounts for items that were probably not even made for quarter the price. Well here is a tip for you, instead of searching far and wide for the right find, search no further than your parent's wardrobe as hidden jems lie within.

Looking back at pictures of my mum and dad at a young age is quite an experience! Although there was a time I would have asked what in the world where they thinking with their fashion choices, there are now more and more times I realise their fashion styles fit perfectly with the current trends.

And the best thing about it... no one will have that same outfit or item! Not only are you setting a trend, you are also being one of a kind.

So before you go out splashing endless amounts of cash on over priced items that are guaranteed to be in evereyone's closets, try looking closer to home.

And if you know for a fact your parents were not fashionable back in the day, there are always aunties and uncles! This Is Local London:
