Man City- Manchester City have had a great start to the new premier league season, lying top of the lot on goal difference.

With both of their strikers in fine form, they are playing free flowing football, becoming the first team to score five goals or more in three consecutive games.

Despite their defence looking somewhat shakey now and again, especially In the first half against Liverpool, their midfield and attack are certainly dominating matches.

It will be a test for their defence across 38 games, as if injuries begin to roll in and champions league football taking its toll, it will be interesting to see if Manchester City have turned a corner from last seasons defensive disappointments.

Manchester United- The red half of Manchester will certainly be satisfied by what they have seen from their team thus far.

Last season, United struggled with finishing teams off, and would often find themselves at 0-0 late on trying to fina a goal.

This season however, the rampant attack consisting of the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Henrikh Mkitaryan have had no trouble finding the net having won 4-0 on three separate occasions in the league.

Another key element to United’s success so far has been the impact off of the bench. Around five goals have come from the bench this season with the likes of Anthony Martial bagging three goals from the bench this season.

Paul Pogba has been ruled out for a number of weeks after picking up a hamstring injury in the champions league. This is a blow for United especially with Liverpool on the horizon, however United will have to make do and Fellaini is certainly playing well at the moment.

Can United continue this form until the end of the season? It will no doubt be a test, and United are yet to face a top six side with Liverpool being the first after the international break.

With both Manchester clubs level at the top, Chelsea not far behind and Liverpool and Spurs pushing to get closer, the title race is shaping up to be a good one for the remaining eight months of the season.
