On Friday 10th March my school held their annual family curry and quiz night to raise money to build an outside extension to our cafeteria. The night was a huge success! Teachers, parents and students all participated. The event took place in our school cafeteria and the food was provided by our school cafeteria staff, the meal was delicious.

To go along with the Indian theme, the cafeteria staff dressed up in traditional Indian clothes; the women in saris and the men in achkan. Other Indian snacks and refreshments were also available. For example Bombay mix and mini poppadoms.

Because my mum is part of the Parents’ Association at school, she was part of organising the event. To help out on the night, my dad and I kept track of scores whilst others served drinks and refreshments.

The different rounds were: name the logo, match the famous parent to their child, name the country flag, disco music, history, general knowledge, pot luck and social media. The children's teams were given a bonus question because the questions were quite difficult! There was high competition between six formers and teachers because last year the teachers won. But the teachers were out of luck this year.

Money was raised through entrance tickets and raffle tickets. The prizes on offer were wine, a stationery kit, chocolate, vouchers, Easter eggs and more.

Overall the quiz went on for around 3 and a half hours and was highly enjoyed by everyone. I cannot wait for next year!
