On the 5th of February 2017, four Langley students travelled to Taunton, Somerset, for the Regional Schools Trampolining Competition.  It was the first time that Issie Atack, Amy Mewis, Charlotte Folan and Ella Hawkins had competed in this competition together so they were very nervous but excited at the same time.

This was the second stage of the trampolining competition – the team came second in the London competition in December.  In order to proceed to the national round they knew they had to place second or above, adding to the pressure!  As well as this, team member Issie Atack was competing in the individual competition and knew she had to place in the top three to advance as an individual too.

After some good warm up routines it was time to compete.  Issie told me that her routines went well however she thought she would come in fourth place.  When the results came in the girls were ecstatic – first for the team and first place for Issie.  What an amazing day for Langley!

The team will be competing in the national competition in Newcastle this March and hope to improve on their performances and get another fantastic result.   Good luck to them!
