After another rather eventful year, hundreds gathered in bustling central London for New Year’s Eve. Following political catastrophes (as some may say), such as Brexit in the summer and the US election results towards the end of the year, many were somewhat relieved for the coming of the new year. After many recent instagram and twitter updates, many have been wondering if 2016 has actually been one of the worst years we have all experienced. Nonetheless, both good times and bad always come to an end and the growing crowd on New Year’s Eve had many high hopes for 2017.

“The new year brings about a fresh start for so many of us; a clean slate to start something new. It is a blank canvas that we can begin our art on,” says Raina Sabanta, who is eagerly waiting for the brand new opportunities the coming year has, much like most of us. As the clock kept ticking towards twelve, more and more people gathered to view London’s legendary fireworks display, and this time it was arguably one of the best shows yet!

As the countdown began and the clock on Big Ben finally struck twelve, a frenzy of colours boomed in the sky as the crowd began to roar in excitement. The endless enigma of colours spiralled through the sky and brought life to everyone who watched and gazed in awe. The new year continues to be a time that gives us all an incentive to do some good and New Year’s Eve 2016 has definitely left many amazing memories for all those who were there to watch this spectacular event.
