Justin Timberlake has reportedly been approached to play the lead role in a science fiction flick alongside Amanda Seyfried.

The movie, I'm Mortal, is set in a society where people only reach the age of 25 and those wanting to live longer have to buy extra time.

Singer and actor Justin would play a man who is charged with murdering a man for his "time" and so goes on the run, taking Amanda's character with him, according to Deadline.com.

The film will be directed by Andrew Niccol from his own script and is scheduled to reach cinemas in 2012.

The Cry Me A River singer has just finished filming Bad Teacher alongside ex-girlfriend Cameron Diaz and also starred in The Love Guru, The Social Network, and Southland Tales.

Justin was recently reported to be set to star in one of Guy Ritchie's new movies, the big-screen remake of musical Guys And Dolls.
