Full back Mike Brown says England intend to cause ‘chaos’ against Italy on Sunday after Saturday’s 15-9 Calcutta Cup win over Scotland.

Quins quintet Brown, Danny Care, Chris Robshaw, Jack Clifford and Joe Marler have been retained in head coach Eddie Jones’ squad preparing for the clash in Rome.

And Brown, 30, has targeted quicker ball at the breakdown in order to wreak attacking havoc.

Congratulations: England's Danny Care leaps on try scorer Jack Nowell and skipper Dylan Hartley after the former's score in his side's 15-9 win over Scotland

“We want to play quick, cause a bit more chaos for the defence and not let them settle which is what we’ve been practising,” said Brown.

“Scotland slowed the breakdown so we couldn’t get that going. Hopefully, we can get that right this week. We work hard at the breakdown, so we can get the quick ball we want.”

Take a bow: Jack Clifford was a second half replacement for Quins clubmate Chris Robshaw

Clifford came off the bench to claim his first senior England cap on Saturday.

The former Cobham RFC youngster came on as a second half replacement for Harlequins clubmate and ex-England captain Robshaw to play the final 10 minutes at Murrayfield.

And it was a proud moment for the 22-year-old's age group coach at Fairmile Lane, Neil McCallum.

“His rugby skills were self-evident when he turned up to join Cobham in the U13s. He has always been big with not only good pace but also great speed off the mark," he added.

"It struck me at the time that Jack, even as an U13, was capable of hitting rucks very low and therefore able to drive back opponents - and coaches in training. He was unstoppable from five metres out.

"Jack joined an excellent squad at Cobham that was unbeaten on English soil from Under 11 to U18 and names Rugby World Magazine's team of the year."

England and France are the only teams still able to claim a Grand Slam win after Ireland and Wales drew 16-16 in Dublin at the weekend.
