Harlequins dominated the statistics at rugby HQ on Sunday, but the one that mattered proved beyond them as they drew 39-39 with Gloucester at Twickenham on Sunday.

Harlequins fought back from 10 points down with 10 minutes to play to secure a dramatic draw in Big Game 8, but it could - and probably should - have been more.

Marland Yarde and Danny Care scored for Quins in the first half, but the boot of Greg Laidlaw and tries from Jeremy Thrush and James Hook ensured the Cherry and Whites led 15-17 at the break.

Henry Trinder scored twice to add to a Rob Cook effort in the second half to put Gloucester 39-29 up with 10 minutes to go after Quins had hit back through Nick Easter and Ross Chisholm.

Chisholm crossed again with minutes remaining before fly half Nick Evans levelled matters with the conversion.

The Kiwi number 10 then saw a late drop goal attempt brush the post as the game finished all square to leave Quins wondering how they had not won having dominated possession, territory and the set-piece.
