London Welsh assistant coach Ollie Smith says the exiles will remember Sunday’s 25-21 defeat to promotion rivals Bristol.

Tries from Joe Ajuwa (two) and Chris Cook in the last 15 minutes were not enough to overcome a 22-0 deficit.

“Defeat hurts. When you’re a team that wants to be successful and wants to be promoted it’s got to hurt,” said Smith ahead of Nottingham’s visit to Old Deer Park.

“We’ll lock it away and we’ll take a lot out of it.

"We’ll come out of this knowing that the Memorial stadium is not a place to fear, if everything goes well and we’re back down here in the play-offs.”
