Hampton School stand two wins from a Twickenham cup final after reaching the quarter finals of the NatWest Schools Cup.

A Jacob Goss try and two Rory Chatterton penalties secured an 11-0 win over The Campion School on Wednesday.

The pair conmbined to put Hampton 8-0 up at half time, but it was not until late in the second half that Chatterton's second penalty made the game safe to set up a last eight trip to RGS High Wycombe.

Hampton's director of tugby Zoran Higgins said: “The game was not one that the purists would have enjoyed, but considering the terrible rain and freezing cold, both teams demonstrated a high level of commitment and skill.

"Campion were extremely spirited and, at times, really put us under pressure – their boys were a real credit to the school and they should be proud of their performance.

"The Hampton players were equally outstanding in extremely difficult conditions and I have to applaud their intelligence in the way they solved the problems the game and weather threw at them, as well as the physicality they showed throughout.

"I am very proud of them in what has been an outstanding season regardless of what happens in the quarter finals.

"We now travel to RGS High Wycombe who are a fantastic rugby team, so we will really need to perform in order to compete with a side that won an U15 Daily Mail Cup in 2011.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to test ourselves against the very best.”
