Forward Paul Spivey says London Scottish are out to set the record straight when Pontypridd come to town in the second of their back-to-back British & Irish Cup games tomorrow.

The Welsh Premiership champions secured a narrow 27-20 win at Sardis Road last Saturday to take control of Pool Two.

Mike Doneghan’s late try rescued a losing bonus point for Scottish and teammate Spivey knows only a win will keep them in the hunt for a quarter-final berth.

“We went down to Wales with a game plan which we didn’t really stick to and a few errors crept in,” he said.

“It was a tough game and Pontypridd is a difficult place to go with a pretty hostile crowd on their side.

“But we came away with one point which was pretty good.”

I think it will be a completely different game at our place.

“We are playing really well at home and have lost just one game here all season.

“We have done a lot of analysis on them and fingers crossed we can set the record straight.”

The Welsh are expected to bring more than 600 supporters to Richmond on Saturday and Spivey is hoping a noisy home crowd can give the hosts an extra edge.
