Florent Rossigneaux has urged Rosslyn Park to grab their chance of glory with the Priory Lane side one game away from a promotion play-off place.

Having disposed of Clifton 36-0 in Bristol last weekend, Park know a bonus-point win at Canterbury on Saturday will secure second spot in National League Two South.

That will lead to a winner-takes-all clash with runners up in National League Two North, and Rossigneaux is eying up a finish to remember.

He said: “It would be incredibly silly for us to come all this way and then blow it.

“We are still in control of our own destiny and the truth is if we win on Saturday that is it.

“We need to go to Canterbury and produce the type of performance we did at Clifton.

“I will say the same thing to the players that I do before each game - if we put the effort in and play our rugby the result will follow.”

Morgan Jones (two), Ross Laidlaw, Paul Unseld and Marc Sweeney crossed for tries at the weekend as Rosslyn inflicted just the second home defeat of the season on Clifton.

And Rossigneaux admitted it was exactly the type of performance he was looking for.

He added: “We came out of the changing room fired up and grabbed the game by the throat straight away.

“Quite a few times this season we have let sides back into games but we kept the pressure on.

“It showed exactly what this side is capable of when we do not take things for granted.”

Having fallen off the pace last season, Rossigneaux is determined not to go through that disappointment all over again.

And the French coach reckoned this success has been a long time coming.

Rossigneaux added: “This is not some flash in the pan thing.

“This side has been building for the last two years or so and it has developed nicely.

“There has been a realisation of what we can achieve and it is all about putting that in place.”
