An away victory with a bonus point is always to be savoured, and Wimbledon’s unanswered 24 points after Hove had led 13-6 was a tribute to their ambition as well as organisation.

The 30-13 win lifted head coach Nick Easter's side to third in London Division One South.

Gary Crowe took over the captaincy from the injured Neil Hallett and promptly scored four tries.

Loosehead prop Pete Wallace bagged a brace while lock Aiden O’Brien and outside half Bryan Croke also crossed the whitewash.

Croke also scored two penalties and converted two of the tries.

Another positive was a solid debut by lock Campbell Tait, the only minus was an unfortunate hamstring injury to winger Pete Scott, which will keep him out for several weeks.

Next week Wimbledon will be at home to rivals Cobham with a 3pm kick-off.
