Golfers descended on the Fulwell Golf Club in Twickenham last weekend for a match with a difference.
Almost 50 golfers, including former Middlesex wicketkeeper David Nash, took on the charity Sparks’ Longest Golf Day Challenge to raise more than £10,000 for the children’s medical research charity.
Held over four consecutive rounds of 18 holes, the event started at 4am and ended at around 9pm.
Sparks’ head of golf events Dan Smith said: “Despite the 4am start, the teams arrived in great spirits, which continued throughout the day, right up until the last putts some 17 hours later.”
