Roarie Deacon scored on his debut for Sutton United in Saturday's 2-1 win over League Two Portsmouth.
He was joined on the scoresheet in the first half by Bedsente Gomis and United went in at half-time with a 2-0 lead over last season's play-off semi-finalists.
A wealth of second half substitutions from both sides eventually saw Pompey pull a goal back through Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain.
United are at Kingstonian tonight as the pre-season schedule moves on, and they host a Crystal Palace XI at Gander Green Lane on Saturday.
