Saturday’s game against Hayes & Yeading felt worryingly familiar.

Once again the Yellows dominated the game, but failed to convert chances, while conceding with a defensive slip at the other end.

The only difference was that this time we lost three points instead of two.

It’s incredibly frustrating to watch – we have a side who should be challenging up at the top, but instead sit in 10th.

There is of course time for this to change - performances are there, but need to be turned into results.

Laying the blame on just one player would be harsh and the misses seem to be coming from all over the park.

Stuart Fleetwood appears to be going through something of a confidence crisis and needs a goal, but you get the feeling that once he scores one he will be banging them in every week.

Sutton United striker must wait for his chance to impress

The management team must be particularly frustrated by the whole problem as there isn’t an awful lot they can do about it.

Tactics have worked well and the side look a threat – it’s just the final killer touch that’s needed.

We could certainly do with a bit of luck to be fair - I’ve lost count of the amount of times we’ve hit the woodwork this season, and we’ve not had much in the way of refereeing decisions either.

You do not expect to get every 50/50 shout for a penalty given, but you’d think we’d have had more than one by now.

We’re certainly still very much in the race for the play-offs, but need to overcome the problem of scoring goals before we can get there.
