Jake Reeves is relishing the opportunity to play as many games as possible in order to extend AFC Wimbledon’s recent good form.

The Dons are on a three-game winning streak heading into Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Forest Green Rovers, following victories against Accrington Stanley, York City and Hartlepool.

While some teams may be guilty of taking cup competitions for granted in favour of domestic success, Reeves insists this is not the case for the Dons.

He said: “When on you’re a good run of form you just want the fixtures to come thick and fast to improve every game, and hopefully the FA Cup will help that.

“It’ vital to now to build up some real momentum, so it’s certainly not a distraction to our league efforts at all.

“The year we came up against Liverpool I had just joined the club so couldn’t play, but the lads still talk about it now, everyone knows how magical it can be and we just want to do as well as we can.

“If you can beat some of the smaller sides and get a massive club then its good for everyone.”

The English midfielder has been ever-present for the Dons this season, and is the only player to play every minute this season.

He added: I’d love to continue my run of games.

“If it isn’t myself, then it will be a good opportunity for someone to showcase the depth we’re beginning to show here.

“Obviously I want to play though, there’s definitely something special about the competition and if we can make it four wins on the bounce, even better.”
