A familiar face knocked Kingstonian out of the Robert Dyas League Cup earlier this month and the same player would do the same thing in the play-offs if it came to it – because that is his job, writes Stuart Amos.

Ryan Moss bagged a double in a 2-1 win for Margate to deny Ks a trophy in boss Tommy Williams’ first season in charge.

The two teams go head-to-head in the Ryman Premier League at Kingsmeadow on Saturday and could do the same again at the end of the season when promotion is up for grabs.

The 27-year-old has bagged 18 league goals for Margate this term and is out to get a few more under his belt before the end of the season – no matter who they come against.

“It was always written in the stars that I would score against Ks,” he said.

“I’ve still got a lot of friends there and I had a great time at the club. The best time of my career.

“It is my job to score and I want 25 goals this season.

“Margate are probably the most ambitious club in non-League football.

“Whatever level of football you play, you have to back up your reputation. I was signed to score goals and that is what I have to do.”

He added: “I’m just enjoying scoring goals for the sake of it, because I do not get a goal bonus now. I’m scoring goals and I am loving it.

“Looking at the table there are a lot of teams fighting for those last couple of places.

“Ks still have a great team and I can easily see them getting in there and if we come face to face then I would probably end up scoring again – it is my job.”
