Ks assistant Graham Harper hailed his side’s best home performance before warning title hopefuls Maidstone United they would be next.

A brace from new signing Charlie Penny and one from Jesse Darko struck to give Kingstonian a 3-0 triumph over Lewes at Kingsmeadow on Monday night.

Penny, signed on loan from Welling United last week, struck either side of half time having failed to find the net on his debut in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Grays Athletic.

Kingstonian: Injuries force Williams' mini mid-season shuffle

The win, Kingstonian’s fourth in their past five games, has fans hopeful of a Ryman Premier League play-off push ahead of Maidstone’s visit tomorrow.

“We know our home form has been an issue, but that was probably our best performance of the season at our place,” said Harper.

“We’re very pleased with Charlie. He is a very good player and we are delighted to have him.

“We can over play things at home at times, but if we start to do a bit more of what we do away from home then I think we will start getting better results.”

He added: “If we play like that then we are capable of giving anyone a game.

“We have the confidence to play like that and we can take the game to them.”
