Ks boss Tommy Williams has revealed there is no hard feelings between him and former striker Nathaniel Pinney.

The former Crystal Palace trainee was released by the Kingsmeadow club earlier this month having failed to capture the form that saw him score 21 goals in 30 Ryman Premier League appearances at Carshalton Athletic.

Williams had hoped Pinney, pictured, who has struggled with his fitness, would fill the void left by the summer exit of Ryan Moss, but the 23-year-old failed to hold down a regular starting slot for Ks.

However, the Ks chief has not ruled out working with the ex-Eagle, who scored on his debut for Conference South Eastbourne Borough in a 3-2 defeat to Chelmsford on Saturday, in the future.

“It was time to change a few areas,” he said.

“He is a great lad, but he never got a run of games and that affected his fitness and his game.

“He knows what he needs to work on and if he can get himself right then he can still be a threat.

“I would work with him again.

“I never had any problems with him, but we needed to make some changes.”

Injury doubt: Ks skipper Alan Inns missed the mid-week win at Wingate, but should be fit for Canvey Island trip    SP88007

A Pelayo Pico Gomez double gave Ks a 2-1 win at Wingate & Finchley on Tuesday to move them up to 11th in the table and seven points off the top five.

Williams said: “That is four unbeaten now and it was another very good performance. The players’ work ethic was excellent and if we had been a little more clinical in front of goal, the winning margin would have been much wider.”

He added: “We’ve had a tough spell, there’s no doubt, but we believe in what we are doing. There is always pressure on every manager at every level of football, but as long as we keep moving forward and picking up the points, we’ll get there.”

Alan Inns missed the win at Wingate after having three stitches in a knee injury picked up in the weekend’s 0-0 draw at AFC Hornchurch, although Williams is hopeful he will be back for Saturday’s trip to Canvey Island.
