Kevin Sainte-Luce has been missing from the AFC Wimbledon line-up for more than six weeks because he is failing to grasp the Dons ethos, says boss Neal Ardley.

The Frenchman last appeared in the first team in the 2-0 defeat at Wycombe Wanderers in October, but has been in the reserves ever since.

Ardley said: "Consistency is Kevin's issue right now, and I have been trying to work with him on it for some time.

KSL gets shown the door at AFC Wimbledon

"We know he’s a talent, I watch him in training when he gets one on one, and I know that fans love watching him.

"But, I also know that with the amount of work the fans have done for this club over the past 12 years, you expect the players to give absolutely everything on the pitch for you.

"That is something Kevin has not grasped, and I am working extremely hard on him to grasp it."

He added: "At the end of the day, we cannot carry anyone in the team – we’re not good enough.

"When you’re 18th in the budget table, you have to have everyone on point."
