Simon Parker insists there will be no fear factor when Tooting & Mitcham head to Stockport County this weekend - thanks to a video nasty.
Parker and the rest of the Terrors squad sat through Stockport’s recent 2-0 defeat at Brentford on the team coach back from Chippenham on Saturday as the Ryman Premier side looked for signs of weakness.
And striker Parker admits the struggling League One side have given them plenty of cause for optimism.
He revealed: “We watched that game and to be honest Stockport looked a poor side.
“To be fair though even Brentford didn’t look that great!
“I think when you are used to watching Premier League football on the television and then sit down to watch that you really notice the difference.
“But I am sure they will be saying the same about us.
“By all rights we should not have a chance against them, but we are not going up there thinking we are going to get hammered.
“They are not having the best of times and if we play well and they have an off day then who knows - stranger things have certainly happened.”
Parker is one of the few Tooting players who have experienced FA Cup First Round day before, having turned out for AFC Hornchurch against Peterborough United last season.
And the 30-year-old schoolteacher cannot wait to get to grips with a professional side again.
Parker added: “I am really excited.
“It will be a fantastic experience for every one of us.
“Although I have played a league side before, it will be nice to go to a league ground and take it all in.
“We are under no illusions about the size of the task we face, but we will not be afraid to go there and give it a real go.”
