Sutton United boss Paul Doswell is drinking from a half-full glass in the face of a third consecutive draw in the National League South.

Saturday's 1-1 stalemate at Maidenhead, courtesy of a Craig Dundas goal, followed draws at home to Truro City and at Dartford.

It leaves United 14th in the table ahead of this weekend's bank holiday double header against struggling Wealdstone on Saturday at the Lane, and Monday's trip to Whitehawk.

Doswell said: "Two of the three draws were away from home at teams expected to do well this season, so I have be a glass half-full person.

"As a manager you know when your team is working well and looking right, and I can safely say that we're doing both."

He added: "Wealdstone might be at the bottom, but it is too early to tell if that's a true reflection of where they should be, but we do need to be beating teams at home."

Doswell welcomes back from injury Craig McAllister and Dan Fitchett, but Simon Downer and Kevin Amankwaah remain on the treatment table.

Tom Bolarinwa will miss the Wealdstone game due to being out the country, but he should be back for Whitehawk - although Jamie Collins will miss the trip to the coast because of suspension.

Meanwhile, the sale of season tickets has reached 602 - much to the manager's delight.

"Last season we sold about 130, so to sell more than 600 is more than we could have wished for," he said.

"We had more than 700 at the Truro game, which was great - and if there was anthing good to come out of the game, then it is that fans will want to come back for more action.

"I know a lot of neutrals came because the game was on a Monday, but we would normally have only had about 300, so the scheme is working."
