Sutton United’s new keeper Ross Worner says it was a no-brainer to join manager Paul Doswell’s dream for the future.
The 25-year-old was due to sign forms at League Two Crawey Town as their second keeper.
However, Doswell offered him a way to first team action, albeit two levels down.
Worner said: “It came out of the blue – I was coming in from training I got a phone call from Dos and he said: ‘Our keeper’s gone to Gillingham, we want you as our keeper’.

“I did not have to think about it, everyone I have spoken to all speak highly of Dos, and apparently there’s not a nicer man in football.”
The former Dons keeper added: “And coming to work on a nice new pitch, at a club that’s on the up with some great new signings over the summer – it was a no-brainer.
“I’ve played in the Conference South before with Woking, and we managed to get to the play-off finals. Fingers-crossed we can do that again.”
Doswell said: “Ross is a proper keeper. I’ve heard AFC Wimbledon fans say Ross is playing a level or two too low, and I agree.
"The world is his oyster, if he has a good year here it’s his shop window to go again in League football.”
