Met Police on-loan striker Billy Medlock is looking to bang in the goals that will re-ignite his Sutton United career.

Medlock joined the Met on a month’s loan last week after a frustrating spell on the sidelines with the Conference South outfit.

The 23-year-old was looking to get a run of games together before heading back to Gander Green Lane.

However, it has been a stuttering start as Medlock has played just one game – a 3-0 defeat at Billericay – and was cup-tied for the Surrey Senior Cup win over Tooting & Mitcham United.

Now the striker must wait until Saturday to pull on his boots once again.

He said: “It was a bit of a stop-start beginning to my Sutton career.

“I had a little run in the team but we had a bit of a bad spell and then I picked up an injury.

“I still have my ankle strapped up, because the pitches at the moment are so heavy.”

Medlock, who hit five goals in 11 United appearances, added: “I was a bit unlucky in some of the games and if my chances had gone in I would like to think I would be scoring more.

“But from my point of view I was not scoring enough and it is difficult to get back in the side when the team is winning, and when I am injured there is nothing I can do.”

Despite his stuttering stay at Met, the striker believes the Ryman Premier League side’s expansive style of play will chime with his own.

“Met Police have been on a very good run of late and from what I have heard from the coaches they want to play,” he said.

“I prefer to play on the floor and not in the air, and I just want to get some games.”
