Banstead Athletic’s fortunes appear to be on the rise despite slipping to second bottom of the Combined Counties Premier League.
Graeme Banyard’s team, who were mauled 11-0 by Windsor earlier this month, narrowly lost out to fellow strugglers Cove 2-1 on Saturday, despite Leon McDowell’s strike.
But they did secure a shock goalless draw at high-flying Camberley Town on Tuesday to win their eighth point of the season and suggest an upturn in results – despite only being kept off the bottom of the table by Mole Valley SCR, who are four points adrift.
They face another struggling team this Saturday when they go to Wembley looking for a first away win.
